ARRIVING IN URUGUAY, Carrasco International Airport (Montevideo)

ARRIVING IN BUENOS AIRES: Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (domestic, regional international transfer), Aeropuerto Internacional Ezeiza.  

You can cross over by plane or ferry to Montevideo, by ferry to Colonia, by bus/car to anywhere in Uruguay, across the Inernational Bridge Libertador San Martín into Fray Bentos, Uruguay, then proceed to your local destination. 

If you are travelling from abroad on race week, it is most likely you will arrive in Carrasco International Airport, Montevideo. There are direct flights from some cities, otherwise you will be connecting in Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre, Buenos Aires or Santiago.

From Buenos Aires, you can also travel by ferry + bus, straight to Punta del Este (Buquebus), with bus transfer in Montevideo.

By Transfer or Bus

Aeropuerto Internacional de Punta del Este is at Laguna del Sauce, 20km west of Punta del Este which can be easily reached by taxi. Reputable taxi companies LingoTaxi.com (also with English-speaking staff and drivers), www.airporttransfer.com.uy or www.taxisaeropuerto.com.

If you travel with your bike, the best option is our own Shuttle Transfer Service. You will be travelling in a comfortable van or bus with your fellow riders, and delivered to your hotel of choice, door to door. It’s available at Carrasco Airport at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday of race week

Cost: USD 80 per person, per way.

Other options:  you can hire a private transfer (USD 220 per way), rent a car/van (check your GFNY Punta del Este discount coupon at Europcar) or you can take a bus at the airport (COT / COPSA lines, every hour (Check/book on-line at cot.uy) plus a taxi on arrival, to get you to the hotel (around USD50 per way altogether)
